Our MissionTo increase the quality of life in the Washington Heights North community for dogs, dog owners and the community at large by creating and maintaining a clean and well-lit dog run in the north end of the Nighbridge Park. This dog run will impact the community residents in a positive way by helping to reduce and discourage illegal uses and criminal activity in the section of the park. We aim to reach out to the community with events and outreach programs to increase community awareness about the true nature of well-trained, friendly dogs and owners and foster community involvement and goodwill. |

Experts say that dogs were domesticated between 12,000 and 25,000 years ago, and that all dogs evolved from the wolf. Since then, humans have selectively bred more than 400 breeds, randing in size from four-pound teacup poodles to Irish wolfhounds, whose three-foot stature earns them the title of the tallest canine.
